Music and Lyrics by Mark Murdock

lyrics

Pure as the Driven Snow

Was I not guided by the stars
That led me to your door
Was I not guided by the wind
That constantly pulled me forward

The cold wind forced me to take shelter
Only for awhile where I could recover

Was I not told to follow my heart
My feelings would be my guide
Was I not led to believe
Under overcast skies

Pure as the driven snow
falling from the sky
The loneliness and secrets kept
All the days from passing by

The stillness in the winter’s calm
The lanterns dimly lit along
Encounter silence overcast
The winds die down at last

The stars align up to your our souls
As the seas start rise
The clouds give way to the sun
The overcast is comprised

The cold wind forced me to take shelter
Providing awhile where I could recover

Pure as the driven snow
falling from the sky
The loneliness and secrets kept
All the days from passing by

The stillness in the winter’s calm
The lanterns dimly lit along
Encounter silence overcast
The winds die down at last
