A Way out for the Weak

lyrics

A Way out for the Weak

Was my life a load I lifted
But couldn't carry?
Was it why I tried to shift it
Onto Charon's ferry?
Was my death an accident
Or did it go just how I planned?
I wish I could remember
How it came to this.

I'd see a rainbow and I'd shoot it -
Possessed by color:
That was how I forgot my duty
And lost my valor.
Was I really so bold
To put a sad end to it all?
A call of eternity
Isn't easy to resist.

It's a way out for the weak -
And I don't know how I could do it.
It's a way out for the wicked -
And I apparently fell through it.

Find the door to see the dancer,
Life's not a barrel you can scrape.
Suicide is not the answer -
It's a cowardly escape.

I never wanted to surrender
To circumstances.
I'm never scared to bend my fender
When danger dances.
But leave my loved ones in the lurch,
To wonder why and always search
If they're the ones to blame for
My endless mist?

It's a way out for the weak -
And I don't know how I could do it.
It's a way out for the wicked -
And I apparently fell through it.
