Shadows That Stood Between the Lies

lyrics

The Shadows That Stood Between the Lies

The rain keeps falling for days and nights
Never stopping with no end in sight
There are no detours
There is no escape
The doors are closing in on your fate

There are those who are lost in despair
They roam the streets so unaware
Searching for something they haven’t found yet
Afraid it could be another regret

I want to see the shadows that stood between the lies
Allowing reflections in deceptive eyes
I want to return to the life we once knew
Where our dreams were so close and so untrue

All I want is to hear your laughter
To touch your face soon after
I need to know that this is real
I need to believe what I feel

Silence has been replaced with sound
Once so familiar heard all around
Empty streets desolate places
Once filled with emotion on so many faces

An activation of my senses
A sensation of once felt before
Have we grown

I want to see the shadows that stood between the lies
Allowing reflections in deceptive eyes
I want to return to the life we once knew
Where our dreams were so close and so untrue

All I want is to hear your laughter
To touch your face soon after
I need to know that this is real
I need to believe what I feel

You must not yield even to a degree
The loser will slip and fail to see
Hiding in the darkness waiting to emerge
Undetected until the lies will surge

The shadows that stood between the lies
The shadows that stood between the lies
